One comment, huh? Yeah, that's about how I feel. "Postmortem" never seemed more appropriate.
Fears realized. This definitely isn't the same show as the previous two seasons of Masters. Instead, it's the show I just watched for the past four and a half months, with more-established chefs. Except based on the previews, it looks like your prize for paying your dues is even stupider challenges.
My heart's not in this, guys. I was feeling a little burned out as it was, and I was really looking forward to the more deliberate, soulful, food-focused vibe of Masters to kind of kick back and enjoy, but it doesn't look like that's happening. Top Chef is a competition. Masters was a celebration. But it kind of looks like the powers that be have decided that celebrations don't sell. And they could be right, I don't know, but I'm out. Maybe I'll come around in a few weeks, but at least for now, I'm going to bail on the Masters postmortems. Time to refocus on some serious food.

Well, this is distressing.
The New York Times is reporting on the changes to season three of Masters, which has given me pause to review what I loved about the first two seasons.
Reserving judgment, as always. But I have a very, very bad feeling about this.
